Flags of the Brave

Flags of the Brave program!

"This is a great way to honor a Veteran who has passed away.

"The Legion will fly the casket flag of a Veteran who has passed away for 1 month over the Legion as a way to honor the service and life of that Veteran.

We will then return the Flag to the family with a certificate that the Flag was flown.

Flag was refolded and returned to his family.

Flags of the Brave event today had a very deep meaning for two families.
Today as the snow fell, the Post 471 lowered the casket flag of Sgt. Robert H. Ellis, who served American Legion for over 70 years and was a Veteran with the Army Air Corps. The Flag was refolded and returned to his family. This was then followed by an official 3 round gun salute and the playing of TAPS.
