The soldiers who stand guard at the tomb of the unknown soldier do not stop for rain, snow or any other bad weather.
That is the same for the Newest Boyertown Bear called “Honor Bear”.
This Bear was placed and started his tour of Duty at 9 am on 9-11-2022.
He will now stands guard 24/7/365 over the Veterans Memorial that is located at our Boyertown American Legion post 471 on Walker dr.

UPDATE!
Army Staff Sgt. Damien Frombach, Commander of the Relief, 3rd Relief, Badge #734, first learned of the Honor Bear at the Boyertown American Legion after accidentally driving past it over the summer on his way home while on leave.
“This recognition from the Tomb Guard Platoon seeks to acknowledge the support and commitment from the Boyertown American Legion and Mark Malizzi to the Tomb Guard’s mission of never forgetting the fallen,” Frombach said in a statement.
As a soldier who serves as a Tomb Guard in Arlington National Cemetery, Frombach thought it was really unique and special to have one of the Boyertown Bears represent what the Tomb Guard does for our Nation’s fallen.
“The Honor Bear mirrors the mission of the Old Guard very closely,” said Frombach. “First, the Honor Bear stands in the Boyertown Legion’s memorial garden much like a Tomb Guard stands in Arlington National Cemetery. Second, the Honor Bear stands watch over that memorial garden 24/7, 365 days a year in all weather, exactly how a Tomb Guard stands watch over the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.”
